First of all, we're sorry to hear that your bag was damaged during transit.
Working closely with more than 150 super users, airlines and the Technical University of Norway our design aims to solve this type of damages. Unfortunately, it's no secret that checked-in luggage is exposed to abnormal baggage handling.
The regulation for checked luggage is that any damage that might happen to your bags while in transit is the responsibility of the airline. This is applied from the time when the bag is checked in to the time you pick it up at your destination.
All bags get very hard treatment while in transit and can get damaged by external objects. That is the reason why all airlines have their own department working with lost and damaged luggage, and also why luggage companies do not have the responsibility for warranties in this situation.
As stated in the terms and conditions for most airline tickets, you need to report the damage to the airline. We recommend that you take a photo of your bag before checking it in so you easily can prove that potential damage has happened during the flight upon arrival.
A damage that occurred during a flight is not something that is covered by our warranty as the airline is responsible. As long as you report it to the airline upon arrival, they tend to be quite understandable. If you need an irreparability statement from us in order to have the costs covered by the airline, please reach out to our customer service here.
